Since 1er february 2002 registered by theUNESCO international convention against doping in the sport on World Heritage Tentative List, the Vermeille Coast will captivate you with its Marine Natural Park, its Marine Reserve and its unspoiled hinterland.
Banyuls sur Mer, second seaside resort the southernmost of mainland France is frequented all year round for its charm, as for its world-renowned local products. This village near Collioure and Port-Vendres has long been a player in blue fish fishing (sardines, tuna, anchovies, mackerel) which is carried out by purse seiners or small gillnet. Tourism has remained controlled there without any connection with the tourist resorts further north (Argelès-sur-Mer, Canet en Roussillon, Cap d'Agde, etc.), in order to maintain an authentic local life.
